Se rendre à l’hôtel du Collectionneur, dans ce qu’on appelle le coeur du triangle d’or Parisien, c’est être confronté directement à une période de l’histoire non déplaisante. En plein coeur des années 30
Dans l’esprit d’un grand paquebot transatlantique, l’espace hôtelier s’organise autour d’un jardin central bordé d’une pergola de verre qui incite à la promenade comme sur le pont d’un bateau. Quant à l’effet de perspective et de hau – teur nécessaire à tout édifice faisant réfé – rence à cette époque, il est magnifié par la présence d’un escalier monumental inspi – ré des plans originaux qu’Auguste Perret (grand architecte et ingénieur des Années 30) réalisa pour le Centre Economique et Social du Trocadéro.
Des chambres au jardin, en passant par le lobby, chaque détail raconte une histoire par l’évocation d’un matériau rare, d’un motif inspiré d’un dessin d’origine, par la présence d’une œuvre d’art ou d’un meuble acquis en salles des vente. Chaque détail est une découverte, chaque matériau est une incitation au voyage : Palissandre de Rio pour les portes des chambres, ébène de Macassar, céramiques, amarante, murs en impression galuchat (revêtement pré – cieux et spécifique des Années 30), granit noir ou vert Jade d’Orient…
L’exercice de style fut donc d’explorer le riche répertoire des matières et des techniques contemporaines associées aux matériaux nobles et aux savoir-faire des années 30.
Le Purple bar
L’atmosphère chic et retro donne au Purple Bar une ambiance inimitable. Son décor unique, constitué de cannelures à la feuille d’or, d’ intimes alcôves, de lustres à pampilles et de bois précieux, évoque les fastes des soirées parisiennes des années 30.
Tout au long de la journée, Le Purple Bar propose petit-déjeuner, déjeuner, «tea-time» gourmand, apéritif élégant, grands classiques des bars d’hôtels. L’équipe de jeunes barmen créatifs vous étonnera avec leur « collection » de boissons, cocktails, champagne ou alcools rares.
C’est dans ce lieu baigné de raffinement et de serenité, que j’ai profité d’une bien agréable pause matinale avec un petit déjeuner composé de viennoiseries croustillantes et succulentes à souhait, des confitures maisons ainsi qu’un vrai chocolat chaud aux arômes et aux saveurs intenses.

In the heart of the 30’s
In the spirit of a large transatlantic liner, the hotel space is organized around a central garden lined with a glass pergola that encourages the walk as on the deck of a boat. As for the effect of perspective and height necessary for any edifice referring to this period, it is magnified by the presence of a monumental staircase inspired by the original plans that Augustin Perret (great architect and engineer Of the Thirties) realized for the Economic and Social Center of the Trocadero.
From rooms in the garden to the lobby, each detail tells a story through the evocation of a rare material, a motif inspired by an original design, the presence of a work of art or Of a piece of furniture acquired in auction rooms. Every detail is a discovery, each material is an incentive to travel: Rio Rosewood for the doors of rooms, ebony Macassar, ceramics, amaranth, walls in galuchat printing (precious and specific coating of the Thirties), black granite or Green Oriental Jade …
The exercise of style was therefore to explore the rich repertoire of materials and contemporary techniques associated with the noble materials and the know-how of the 1930s.
